Another NFT project got hacked! This time it’s the Llamascape NFT collection, the project behind Llamaverse. The hackers targeted their Discord server and around 30-40 ETH were taken by the scammers.
How Did The Llamascape Discord Hack Happen?
On Llamascape’s Twitter account, they shared that they are still investigating the hacking incident. However, they have an assumption that one of their team members was social engineered. The compromised account gave a role to an alt account and that’s what scammers used to exploit Llamascape NFT collection holders.
What Llamascape NFT Collection Promised Holders After Hacking Incident
First, Llamascape NFT acknowledged that they are accountable for what happened, and not the community. In line with that, they promised a refund for those affected by their Discord server hack.
Next, they assured the holders that they will have better security practices. In addition to spending $6K to prevent webhook hacks, the NFT project will conduct a new method for their admins. This means alt accounts of their admins, if they have any, can only be used for admin purposes such as announcements.
Lastly, the Llamascape will host an educational session for every admin and moderator so that they are fully informed.
