Slipknot a heavy metal music band has partnered with The Sandbox to bring a Knotverse club to the ecosystem. Together they will be curating a one-of-a-kind meeting place for heavy music culture in the metaverse. Slipknot is looking to bring their ‘Knotfest’ their festival into the metaverse with the partnership.
Knotverse will host a bunch of Web3 experiences such as unique NFTs, gaming, generative collections, new music and much more.
Slipknot feels as though Sandbox is the best metaverse platform that fits their vision. The Knotfest is typically a “dark carnival them,” and they will work hard with the Sandbox team to recreate that in the metaverse.
Slipknot Choses to Host Its Knotverse on Sandbox
As previously mentioned, the Sandbox team will work closely with Slipknot to develop these ‘lands’ in their digital ecosystem. Another artist who already has a partnership with Sandbox is Snoop Dogg. He’s got a chunk of land where he plans on hosting metaverse concerts as well.
Slipknot said recently that they are “listening, watching and going where our fans are leading us.” This shift and movement towards the metaverse has garnered the bands attention. Further, they want to interact and develop closer relationships with their fans. They feel creating Knotverse in The Sandbox is the best way to do so.
The future of fully interactive metaverse festivals and concerts is upon us. A massive event that comes to mind is when Marshmello did a virtual concert during the Fortnite World Cup.
