Leader in spaceflight and space station development, Axiom Space are set to open its first NFT marketplace before the historic Ax-1 Mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The NFTs are set to be released over the next few days. The first batch during the mission and additional NFTs are set to be minted from space.
Minting an NFT in Space
As a part of the Axiom Space NFTs’ debut, they will be minting an NFT in space. During the mission, Axiom will initiate the minting of several NFTs. Starting today, space fans of all kinds can purchase the first NFT and receive updates ahead of the upcoming drops. The project’s NFT marketplace will feature digital artwork associated with the Ax-1 mission.
Members of the crew (commander and mission specialists), alongside famed artist, Michael Kagan, are set to produce their own NFTs. Each of these will put forward a message which is specific to each member, from peace and unity to pushing your limits. Kagan, known for his paintings and sculptures of iconic images of space exploration, has created exclusive pieces to commemorate the Ax-1 mission, including an AR 3D spacewalker.
Further, the company’s CRO, Tejpaul Bhatia said: “We’re pleased to debut the official Axiom Space NFTs to the global space community. It has been our mission to make the dream of travelling to space a reality for more of humanity. Our digital artwork offering is a first step in getting everyone involved.”
