Harry Sommer, president and CEO of NCL, expressed his excitement in the announcement as they can now share the ship’s hull art with the guests. The designs were created by Manuel Di Rita, or “Peeta”, the Italian artist who designed the hull art on the Norwegian Prima and the Norwegian Viva.
The star of the collection is the “Norwegian Prima Hull Art”. In this piece, the designer highlights fluid shapes with unperceivable beginning and ends, like an ocean. The blue swirls beautifully mimic the undulating movement of water.
Secondly, “Relative Coordinates” represents the next piece of the collection. This piece depicts a rearrangement of some of the shapes used on the hull art featured on the two ships. Furthermore, the three-story Penrose Atrium aboard Norwegian Prima will proudly display this artwork.
On top of that, all proceeds from this auction will be donated to Teach for America. Teach For America finds, develops, and supports a network of leaders who expand opportunities for children. This is a cause that NCL holds close to heart, and is happy to contribute to.
Norwegian Prima’s Christening voyage will depart from Reykjavík, Iceland this coming August, and will feature a performance from Katy Perry.
