5 New And Upcoming NFT Collections You Should Be Watching

The first quarter of 2022 has seen many hot new NFT collections already and there are even more to come. Let’s take a look at some of the most exciting new NFT projects set to make a ton of noise when they launch in the near future.

1. VeeFriends Series 2 – the long-awaited follow up from Gary Vee

After months of teases, we are officially less than a week away from the beginning of the mint for the new VeeFriends NFT collection. To explain, the 12 and a half day presale for VeeFriends Series 2 begins on April 12th.

The most important part of the presale for the new Gary Vee NFT collection is the Friends List sale. People were able to win Friends List spots through a raffle that took place on April 5th. In order to enter the raffle, people had to have at least one of Gary Vee’s Book Games tokens. Each token equaled one entry.

What’s more, there was a total of 32,000 spots available from a pool of 120,000 Book Games tokens (minus the tokens Gary Vee owned).  The rest of the 55,000 VeeFriends Series 2 NFTs are allocated thus:

10,255 new Series 2 NFTs will go to holders of the original VeeFriends NFT collection. Those holders will also be able to claim those NFTs starting on April 12. Then, 12 days later on April 24, a public sale for the remaining 10,000 available VeeFriends Series 2 NFTs will take place.

Given the massive success of the original VeeFriends NFTs, this new collection from Gary Vee is undoubtedly going to be one of the most hotly contested mints of the year.

2. The Possessed – A new NFT collection with blue-chip potential

Having garnered an immense Twitter following in a matter of months, and with not all that much information out, The Possessed is a new and upcoming NFT collection that is getting unbelievable hype in the NFT space.

The standout, animated art has clearly captured a lot of attention. To that end, one will find thousands of people trying to get on the presale list for the project every day on Twitter. Not to mention that it has created all this hype without a Discord or a roadmap.

3. Sneaker Heads -An ultra-hyped New NFT collection from a renowned shoe designer

If the 127,000 followers for The Possessed seems impressive, then Sneaker Heads’ 211,000-strong following is on a different level.

Similar to The Possessed, Sneaker Heads is also somewhat of a mystery, with a private Discord and no website. While this may be true, the unique art and a well-known creator have enabled this upcoming NFT project to reach top-tier levels of hype.

Sneaker Heads is in the process of dealing out precious few allowlist spots on its Twitter to lucky followers. By the same token, it is dishing out invites to its Discord server randomly.

There may be no such thing as a sure thing in NFTs, but given its ridiculous Twitter performance and an aesthetic perfectly catering to many NFT enthusiasts, Sneaker Heads seems bound for an amazing launch when it happens.

4. Imaginary Ones – the next Invisible Friends?

Although they are distinct projects with major artistic differences, it’s pretty much impossible to look at Imaginary Ones and not think of the Invisible Friends NFT collection.

Clearly, Imaginary Ones shares some commonalities with what was arguably the most hyped new NFT of the year so far. For one thing, there’s the formless – invisible, you might even say – bodies of the NFT characters. Then there’s the similarity in the walking animation of both projects.

In any case, Imaginary Ones is working with levels of pre-mint hype that no other NFT project may have ever seen before. At least if the Twitter following is anything to go by.

In fairness, its mind-blowing 446,000 Twitter followers are down to much more than a resemblance to Invisible Friends. To clarify, this new NFT collection is the product of veteran 3D animation studio OFFSET. The company client list is a who’s who of massive global companies.

All in all, if OFFSET’s work is good enough for Apple, McDonald’s, Facebook, Spotify, Unilever, and countless other major corporations, it just might be good enough for the NFT space. Talk about an experienced team!

5. Garbage Friends – new NFT collection from the Invisible Friends Artist

Last but not least, is Garbage Friends. In all honesty, there’s not too much in the way of details when it comes to this collection. It boasts an impressive 120,000 Twitter followers, but only three tweets – two of which are just memes. The other is a sneak peek showing what the NFT art may look like and that’s it. So why all the hype?

Well, Garbage Friends is a new NFT collection from Markus Magnusson of Invisible Friends. In fact, the projects are closely connected. Basically, there will be one Garbage Friends NFT for every Invisible Friend. Although the Invisible Friends website does note that there will be extra NFTs for non-holders.

There are of course many more new NFTs coming this year that are exciting in their own right. Nevertheless, you’d be hard-pressed to find any upcoming NFTs with more hype around them than these five.
