Urban Outfitters announces its support for the launch of Smiley NFT artwork by legendary graffiti artist, André Saraiva. The collection composed of 500 NFTs is made in celebration of Smiley’s 50th anniversary.
About André Saraiva and the Smiley NFT Collection
André Saraiva is a Swedish-French artist widely recognized to be for his cartoonish characters. His alter ego Mr. A is a signature design and an iconic character in the fashion and art scene worldwide.
In the upcoming NFT collection, André will reimagine the Smiley logo in different ways. He will have his own unique take on the iconic logo and create a limited-edition set of designs. We’ll be able to see his established graffiti art style incorporated with the recognisable Smiley face.
Aside from being a collectible artwork, the NFTs will also act as utility tokens. Select NFT holders can later unlock prizes and rewards over the course of ten weeks. Moreover, Urban Outfitters announced its profits in the collection will go towards ‘Free Movement Skateboarding’, a sponsored NGO partner to THE SKATEROOM.
More Details about the NFT Drop
North&Touth Entertainment Group, a multimedia company and Web3 agency, handles the development of the collection. The drop will be on Friday, 8th April at 10:00 a.m. GMT/BST via Urban Outfitters on the online NFT marketplace OMGDrops. NFT enthusiasts and collectors can purchase these rare NFTs at 0.2ETH or at around £393.65 / €467.
In case you missed it, Richard Simmons, a London-based pop artist, will donate to mental health charities through his NFT collection. Also, Sketchers plans to open a store in the metaverse.
