World Of Women Galaxy NFT Sold Out, But Not Without Some Hiccups

The World Of Women Galaxy NFT is World of Women’s second NFT collection. They quickly sold out during their launch, and is now available on the secondary market. At the time of writing, the floor price sits at 1.59 ETH, with a total of 10.9k ETH traded. Coming off the success of their first collection, their second collection seems to have lived up to its expectations as well. However, a part of the community does not seem too happy about the release.

What does the WoWG community think?

I don’t think there is much dispute as to the success of this project. Most parties agree that WoWG is a solid project, with various names behind the project as well. However, several Twitter users pointed out that the launch method can be better.

The World of Women Galaxy NFTs use a Dutch auction, which can give artists and developers more potential revenue. However, wealthier individuals can actually sweep up the NFTs before it reaches a more affordable price. Therefore, it is no surprise that some people are not happy with this approach. Twitter user @KTCrypto_eth and @yddubla were among those that voiced out against Dutch auctions.

In addition, another user pointed out that the huge interest in this project caused gwei to spike up. This adds on to the unfair advantage that wealthy collectors have as they would probably win the gas wars. According to Twitter user @MuffinMan2192, the World Of Women Galaxy NFT caused gas cost to spike to 900 gwei.

In addition, Twitter user @Nate_Rivers expressed his disappointment about the misleading tweets from the company. A WoWG tweet mentioned: “The WoW Foundation pledges 50% of all earnings through #WoWGalaxy to @CodeGreen_nft”. But according to WoWG co-founder @raphfac, the foundation gets 10% of primary sales earnings and 25% of secondary sales royalties. This means that the charity gets only 5% of primary and 0.5% of royalties.

In case you missed it, the WoWG NFT collection was a great success. The team announced the historical day, classifying it as a win for all women in Web3 as well. Prior to WoWG, Yam Karkai (@ykarkai), started with the World of Women collection, consisting of 10k NFTs. The NFTs now sit at a floor price of 10.9 ETH, with 62.5k ETH traded.

Subsequently, these NFTs travelled through a portal to join the Galaxy, creating the WoWG collection. They not only experienced unexpected transformations, but also increased in numbers. This collection has 22,222 NFTs, with 8k owners at the moment.

In general, the World of Women community celebrates representation, inclusivity, and equal opportunities for all. Many people can resonate with this vision given the vast gender disparity in the NFT space today. According to ArtTactic, women make up just 16% of the NFT art market.
