A VIP pass to the upcoming Cannes Film Festival is being released by film and TV production studio, Electromagnetic Productions (EMP) as an NFT.
About the NFT Pass
An auction will take place for the VIP pass on March 28th, and we’ll see one winner join EMP on their journey to Cannes, in the South of France where they’ll be granted entry to the famous festival, a three-night stay at the coveted Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc on the neighbouring peninsula, and access to hotel’s annual amfAR Gala. Also, the winner could end up dining alongside a collection of A-list celebs. Previous attendees to the hotel include Will Smith and Tobey Maguire.
As well as this 1/1 NFT, EMP Studio has released a 10,000 piece NFT collection. It allows for holders to access various unique occasions hosted by the production firm.
Cannes Film Festival
The Cannes Film Festival is without a doubt the biggest film festival in France, if not the world. This year, it begins on May 17th and concludes on May 28th. It is one of the ‘big three’ major European film festivals with the Venice Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. As well as this, it is one of the “Big Five” major global film festivals. This is the three major European film festivals, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival. The annual festival began in 1946, just after WWII, and has run since then every year.
Usually, the population of Cannes triples during the festival, from 74,000 to over 200,000. The festival accounts for about €195.87 million in financial impact. This is a large portion of the annual €800.7 million induced by tourism activity in Cannes. To go, you must be invited, and not all are able to go. Over the years, many of Hollywood’s A-list stars have gone.
