Foodchain Global (FCG), a blockchain ecosystem focused on fighting global hunger, partners with nonprofit FoodForward SA to help feed South Africa.
According to a 2021 IPSOS poll, forty percent of South Africans go to sleep hungry. With the pandemic and the high inflation rate brought by the ongoing war in Ukraine, food is even scarcer than it used to be. This is especially true in developing regions. FoodChainGlobal and FoodForward SA unite to ease the situation.
Foodchain Global Released Tokens and NFTs to Eradicate World Hunger
In addition to this partnership, FoodChainGlobal lists its FOOD token on the trading platform MEXC. At the same time, launches 5,400 NFTs as part of its “Foodies” series.
When FCG sells FOOD tokens on MEXC, 30 percent of the proceeds get converted to USDT. Then they convert the funds to U.S. dollars to buy food.
FoodForward SA will then use its resources on the ground in South Africa to purchase the most important food products. They will distribute them to those suffering from food insecurity in all the country’s provinces.
FoodChain Global continues its mission in using NFTs, tokens, and P2E games for real-world impact. Tackling the challenge of global hunger is FCG’s primary goal.
Moreover, FCG builds trust by being transparent with the donations. You can trace everything through a public blockchain address coupled with FCGs proof-of-work page.
According to Shawn Kurz, Founder of FoodChain Global: “Our formal partnership FoodForward SA officially expands our food donations onto the African continent. We chose FoodForward SA since they are a solid boots-on-the-ground organization.”
FoodForward SA’s Fund Development Manager, Deidre Adams, said: “FoodForward SA is delighted to become one of FoodChain Global’s newest beneficiary charities.”
“The partnership will be a critical enabler of our work as we advance our core business of recovering good quality surplus food from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers, and redistributing this food to vulnerable communities across South Africa.”
