You can now be a part-owner of rare and luxurious items! Koia, a community-driven Web3 platform lets its users buy, trade, and collect Fractions linked to iconic assets through the use of NFTs. Its first asset drop, an unworn 2018 Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Pepsi’, will be available later this month with Fractions priced from $100.
How Does It Work?
If users want to part with their Fractions, they can sell them at Koia’s marketplace. Another option is to wait to get their share of the proceeds when token holders receive and approve a buyout offer.
About Koia and Fractional Ownership
Koia’s mission is to make alternative assets accessible. At the same time, build a community-driven platform to buy, collect and trade alternative assets.
Koia believes Web3 and blockchain technology play an essential role in making alternatives more accessible. In line with its mission towards accessibility, Koia built its solution on Polygon to ensure low transaction fees.
They also made it easier for users who do not have a crypto wallet to purchase Fractions by partnering with Ramp to accept bank and card payments seamlessly and integrating Magic Link.
In the future, Koia aims to increase its decentralization. They want their community to seamlessly source, authenticate and fractionalize any physical or digital asset. They will also enable group bidding on real-world auctions via the platform.
Richard Draper, Koia co-founder said: “We’re really excited to source unique and ultra-rare assets with cultural significance as we scale up throughout the year. Longer-term, this could mean anything from a SpaceX Starship, a sports team, or the world’s most expensive car. We want to empower our community to come together and fractionalize anything.”
