Zumo – the Scotland-based crypto wallet and payments platform – has just announced the launch of its #CryptoConfidence campaign. This campaign is designed to help women become more comfortable with crypto.
About the #CryptoConfidence campaign
This new initiative sees Zumo embrace the values of International Women’s Day; a day that celebrates the achievements of women from different backgrounds. Through this campaign, Zumo hopes to make crypto more accessible to women of all ages and backgrounds.
To kickstart this campaign, Zumo is conducting a series of interviews with some of its female employees, customers and influencers. These include Olamide Majekodunmi, Founder of All Things Money, Charlotte, the ‘Looking After Your Pennies’ blogger, and Laura, the ‘Thrifty Londoner’ blogger. They will share their stories and experiences of crypto to inspire other women to follow their path.
All this content will be shared on Zumo’s website and social media. In addition, Zumo will host monthly online meetings that serve as an inclusive space for women to learn and discuss crypto.
As Amelie Arras, Zumo’s Marketing Director, explains: “Since Day 1, Zumo has prioritised being inclusive and accessible. We think it’s really important that more crypto-confident women come forward to share their stories; if each social media post or video inspires another woman to get to know more, it’s a step closer to achieving a better balance in the industry.”
She continues,“We want to help women to become more confident with crypto because it’s the future. By encouraging women to share their own personal insights and experiences, we can create a movement.
About Zumo
Zumo is a decentralised financial platform. Its mission is to bring people and businesses everywhere the benefits of blockchain technology and digital currencies. Through its technology, Zumo provides a simple and secure way to engage with the decentralised economy.
In addition to an easy-to-use crypto wallet, the company also has an app that allows individuals to exchange, store, send, and spend cryptocurrency. Moreover, ZumoKit, its B2B crypto-as-a-service platform, enables fintech and financial institutions to enter the market.
Women’s involvement in the crypto space
The gender gap in crypto overrides the existing gap within traditional investments, such as stocks, ETFs, and real estate. Nearly twice as many men invest in crypto as women (24% of men vs. 13% of women). Women of colour, in particular, face many barriers when it comes to investing due to discrimination. Therefore, as a still-nascent industry, crypto is well-positioned to include more women by helping them succeed.
Undoubtedly, Zumo’s #CryptoConfidence is a good step forward. Given that 43% of its users are Gen Zers, Zumo’s campaign will help younger women learn more about crypto. After all, the crypto industry can only create tomorrow’s female leaders by recognizing current shortcomings.
