Newly-launched Watch Collective from Paul Dupuis has a unique offering—mint a 3D watch NFT and get a real-world Swiss-made equivalent watch. At least, that’s what the brand claims. Paul Dupuis is a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer that is now pivoting its business to enter the metaverse. As a first step, the brand claims to offer physical watches with each mint.
Paul Dupuis is offering luxury watch NFTs
The first collection from Paul Dupuis Watch Collective will include 5,555 randomly generated luxury watch NFTs. All NFTs are based on two watch models and a range of custom-built traits. These traits vary from colour schemes and materials, to dial finishes, straps, and individual components. Apparently, the two models took over three years of development.
After minting, whoever holds the NFTs for a set period of time can claim one real-world physical luxury watch corresponding to their NFT. One lucky holder of a 1/1 gold piece with a diamond bezel can claim a physical watch with real gold and diamonds.
Besides, the NFTs offer holders several benefits. First and foremost, all holders automatically become members of the watch collective, with exclusive access to the Paul Dupuis world. The members will also have access to a future metaverse, which aims to be the go-to spot for luxury watch enthusiasts. Several real-life events, including watch model launches and yacht parties, are also in the pipeline. Members will also get a chance to win exclusive airdrops and physical products. Besides, the brand also claims to be collaborating with artists, designers and major sports organisations.
The Watch Collective from Paul Dupuis has some tall orders to fulfil. While they claim to bridge the gap between NFTs and luxury watches, will they actually deliver? Well, it remains to be seen.
