Cryptomories founder, Iwwon, has said he has “cracked the Opensea verification system”. He is claiming that it is unfair and is quite fishy. This comes after his project, Cryptomories, was taken off the platform after being copyright claimed. They are now back on the platform, yet still unverified.
The Cryptomories Founder’s Claims
Cryptomories founder, Iwwon had a big claim to make on Twitter. He stated: “I think I cracked Opensea’s verification system: if one of Opensea’s team members buy an nft from a collection, it gets verified”.
This, of course, is a dig at the fact that Cryptomories are yet to be verified, yet projects which he finds lesser quality are, just because an Opensea staff member has purchased one, in a way, some form of promoting the project to a higher price.
It is unconfirmed what project Iwwon was talking about. Notably, Opensea has been previously involved in trading scandals.
Many projects with lower floor prices, lesser following, and a less active community than Cryptomories have been verified on the NFT platform.
About Cryptomories
Cryptomories is a 10,000-piece NFT collection founded by NFT artist, Iwwon. Their art shows skulls with many further traits. They have a great audience, with 48,000+ followers on Twitter and 27,000+ on Discord. On Opensea, the current floor price of the collection is 0.62 ETH ($1,630 at the time of writing).
Particularly, they were recently involved in a DMCA takedown case with an unnamed person in the NFT space, which was seemingly NFT artist Sabet. This resulted in them being taken down from the Opensea platform temporarily.
While there was no permanent impact on Cryptomories’ Opensea status in terms of being on the platform, it still brought out some rage from holders and those involved in the team. They felt it was fully unfair.
