Contemporary art icon Takashi Murakami made a big revelation last night! RTFKT Studios announced on Twitter that all Murakami Drip Clones holders are whitelisted for the Murakami Flowers Drop.
The tweet said “All Murakami Drip Clones are whitelisted for @takashipom Murakami Flowers NFT drop. Snapshot will be taken 10 a.m. on March 8 Japan time, 8 p.m. March 7 ET, GET READY .”
What We Know So Far About Takashi Murakami’s Flower NFT Collection
Murakami Flowers is an NFT collection that will have 11,664 Flowers and will be available this spring. Last February 12, Murakami tweeted that he uses the number 108 as the keyword. He said “there will be a combination of 108 backgrounds and flower colors make up a field, and there are 108 fields.”
The flower-based NFT project revealed more details for its future holders on its official website. This includes plans for the contemporary art community and the metaverse. As well as the development of online and digital games.
The Takashi Murakami Signature Art Style
Murakami is a Japanese contemporary artist. His work includes painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation. He received praises for the postmodernism look in his work showing the Japanese culture.
Many recognized Murakami’s art for the “Superflat” style that uses bright colors and simple shapes. According to his website, Superflat refers to the cultural concept generated in Japan in the 77 years since its defeat in the Pacific War. He said, “The losers also have their arguments, as well as their ideas of beauty. I hope to visualize such a landscape in this project.”
