Recently, NFTethics discovered the Meta Sneakers NFT project as a scam on the basis of poor photoshop skills, among other reasons. Apparently, the photoshop skills are so low in quality that anyone can detect how a whole shoe animation is added to the picture. Which is making it more unreal than ever!
Let’s dig into the whole story.
What is the Meta Sneakers NFT project?
With over 20K followers on Twitter, Meta Sneakers interchangeably refers to themselves as CybersSneakers. This project was supposed to be mint in two days, but they did not. The website also mentions whitelist spots and finally a public launch.
However, no information about the mint price, number of NFTs or whitelist contests is available.
What do they claim to do?
According to their official website, the collection has quite an ambitious roadmap. From collaboration with various celebrities to entering into the metaverse. Additionally, the project claims to serve utility NFTs by giving access to special drops in the metaverse and also in real life. Not only this, but the project promises to share the passive income among its holders.
How did NFTethics unveil them as a scam project?
Firstly, the NFT ethics team pointed out how the original project was called CyberSneakers, and now they have changed their name. Furthermore, NFTethics also shared some screenshots of promotional articles for CyberSneakers.
Second, one of the two co-founders has not tweeted about the project at all in the last two years, although he is active on Twitter. Likewise, the second founder was part of a project called ‘PiggyBankers’ NFT which later came out as a rug pull.
Lastly, the pictures that team members posted with Gary Vee show poor photoshop skills. The shoes in the picture are excessively big and animated. By the same token, they also photoshopped the Meta Sneakers logo on the T-shirt, which appears quite absurd.
Just recently, NFTethics also posted about the 888 Inner Circle project. Do check out the whole story over here.
